Hi Pops!

Pops! See that spoon on the table? Let me have it. I want some cheesecake!

Silly Girls

Evie likes to pretend she's taking a nap when I change Mavery on the bed. Yesterday she decided that baby sister needed to lay next to her and nap too. Mavery thought it was fun at first...
The second photo was taken at 7:00pm last night. And Mavery is happy and smiling!! Not usually the case from 7-9pm at the Morrow House. Yeah! Hopefully we are getting out of the evening fussy phase. :) Now, if we could just learn to love our car seat...

Little Mommy

Evie has a book titled "Little Mommy". She has it memorized and it's adorable when she "reads" it to us. This made me think of it.
Next task is brushing that poor dolly's hair!

Girl Talk

Evie and Mavery were having a grand old time talking it up while I was making dinner the other day. Chatter, chatter, chatter.... We love it!

First Day of Preschool and Potty Training Boot Camp

Evie had her first day of preschool today. Wow, you would have thought she was going off to college with two gushing parents like Mike and I. She's just getting too big, to fast! She will go to school (Mother's Day Out) for three days a week at our church. She has such wonderful teachers and her friends are all there so I know she will really enjoy it.

Prior to her preschool adventures, we had about three weeks of Potty Training Boot Camp. Let's just say that between a two month old and a two year old in potty training...It's been REAL messy around here. Evie is getting the hang of the big girl panties, though. She still sleeps in a diaper and I'm sending her to school in disposable training pants for the first couple of weeks just so that the teachers won't have to clean up yucky accidents. But I think she will do well with it at school because she loves using the "little potties" at church. Ahh, the simple things that please little ones... Here is Evie's first day of school in pictures:

Gotta clean up before we get going.

Who's that on my lunch box??

Strawberry Shortcake!!!

I'm so excited about school. Really! Now quit taking pictures and let's GO!!

Mavery Is Two Months Old

Hi There! I'm two whole months old! Yikes!
Here lately I have been doin' some eating, sleeping, pooping, smiling, cooing, kicking and crying. (Hey, I'm two months old, what did you expect??)
I really really like to be held and rocked. I like to be on my tummy. I LOVE watching my big sister dance around and be silly and give me kisses. I like to look at things that are shiny and to watch the ceiling fan go round and round.
I don't like to be put down, and I don't like my car seat. But other than that I'm pretty easy goin'.
Stay tuned for a big sister potty training update in the near future. But for now, enjoy the photos.

A Great Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend around the Morrow household. It was almost a normal weekend, as normal as can be with a two month old anyway. On Saturday we all got up early (surprise, surprise) and by noon had the grass cut, the grocery shopping done and put away, Mike grilled lunch and dinner and the girls were down for naps. Nice! After their naps we hung out around the house and then ended the day with our good friends, the Parks, and met for ice cream. Sunday was church, lunch, naps and VBS kick-off. Here's a few fun shots of the girls...

Mavery's First Sunday Morning Photo Shoot

Yeah for Sunday!!!

The Camera Loves Me!

O.k., I'm bored...

...and I did a lot of this over the weekend.

Evie has been working on potty training. We are making some progress. FINALLY!!

Dora Panties, Rain Boots and Veggietales.
That's our Sunday Mornings around here.

Just call me the Potty Princess.
I get to wear my Princess "Hat" when I go tee tee potty.

Miss Allison took me to see Winnie the Pooh last week.
And then we went to McDonalds.
It was a BLAST!

I helped Mommy make a chocolate pie.

CHEEEEESE!

...Until next time

It's about time...

...that I get a voice on this here blog!

I do alot of this these days...
But since my big sister talks SO much, I wanted everyone to know that I have a voice too. Now I'll turn it over to Mom...

Mavery's Arrival Story
Mavery Lynn came into this world on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 7:15am. She was one week early and I was extremely happy about her arrival and about not being pregnant any longer. On Tuesday, I was feeling hot, miserable and ready to have a baby. During the afternoon I began having some contractions that became pretty regular so I went ahead and called Mike home from work. He was pretty o.k. with that, but of course as soon as he arrived home, the contractions subsided. Ho...Hum... So we packed up, went to dinner and walked around the mall because it was miserably hot outside. We walked...and walked...and walked...
After coming home and getting Evie to bed, I convinced us both that it would not be the night and we should both get some rest.

At about 2:00am I woke up to Evie crying. After getting her settled, I couldn't go back to sleep and at about 2:30am the contractions started. They were pretty mild and about 10 minutes apart. So I thought I'd start timing them since I couldn't sleep. Well, at about 3:00am the contractions jumped from mild to intense and about 4 minutes apart. I got dressed and finally woke Mike up at 3:30. I called our wonderful friends, Cindy and her daughter Allison, who were coming to watch Evie. Mike and I scurried and paced around the house until Cindy and Allison arrived at 4:00am. At this point the contractions were coming every 3 1/2 minutes apart. We drove to the hospital, running all red lights, except for the one that has camera.

We arrived at the hospital at 4:30, I walked into triage and was greeted with, "What brings you in this morning Mrs. Morrow?" Really?

I told the nurse, as I was doubled over in pain, that I was having contractions that were about 2 1/2 minutes apart. She proceeded to ask me what seemed like a million questions that at the time I really didn't know the answers to. No one seemed to consider the situation urgent until they finally got me to a room and found out I was 7 centimeters. Things moved much quicker at that point. The papers were signed, an IV was put in, my doctor was notified and I was wheeled to the delivery room. At this point I began inquiring about an epidural, and they obliged.

After a couple more hours of labor, Mavery was born at 7:15am at 7 lbs and 19 1/2 inches long.
It was a quick and intense labor/delivery, much different than Evie's 9 hour journey. I am so very thankful for two healthy and beautiful girls. Mike and I are so very blessed.

Six Week Sister Comparison...

Evie at six weeks

Mavery at six weeks

As their mother, I certainly see some similarities between the two, but they are each their own person...each one is beautiful in their own way.

July...It's so very HOT!

I've been beating the heat in my pool. Either my pool is too small or I am too big...

I went saw Lucy-Dog a few weeks ago. We are friends on MY terms...

We went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards and I got to drive a Chuck Wagon...
O.K., it's pretend, but it was fun.

I went to my very first Texas Rangers Baseball game, and now it's all I can talk about!
Even got my picture up on the Jumbo-tron for a few seconds.

Since it's so super-duper hot, I do lots of indoor activities, like torturing Mr. Potato Head.

And fixing the play kitchen.

Ahhhhh!!!! When will it ever cool off around here?????

A Mavery post should be coming soon!

One Month Old

Miss Mavery Lynn is one month old. It's hard to believe that four weeks have gone by since we made that 4:00am mad dash to the hospital.
Sweet Mavery likes to be snuggled up on Mommy or Daddy's chest or with her feet tucked under her bottom.
She wasn't a big fan of her bow, but Evie sure liked playing with it.
Life with two kiddos is definitely a whole new ball game. It's exhausting, but I know it will be so fun to watch them play together in a year or so.
Check back soon for a Big Sister post!
