It's already HOT!

When it's 90 degrees and it's only April 24th, what do you do??

Well, you get out the $12 plastic pool from last summer and cool off!  I can't believe it was already 90 degrees last week.  Ready or not, here comes the Texas Summer!

Hunting for Eggs

We had quite a fun-filled weekend of family time and Easter Egg hunting.  On Saturday we joined Aunt Sandy at The Other Place, along with Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  We had tasty hot dogs and did some Easter Egg hunting.

Aunt Sandy explaining that she saw the Easter Bunny earlier that morning.

 Have baskets…will hunt for eggs!

Evie getting a little help from Mawmaw.

 Found one!

Mavery wanted to open each egg as she found it.

 Thank You Easter Bunny!

Taking a ride in the little car.

Saturday evening, some friends invited us over for a Glow-in-the dark easter egg hunt.  It's hard to get pictures of kids hunting Easter eggs in the dark, but it was pretty cool!

And the girls had a blast!

Sunday was the church Easter egg hunt at church.  Sweet girls and their Easter baskets.

On Wednesday night at Mission Friends, we learned that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  This Wednesday, we'll learn that he rose from the grave three days later, and that is why we celebrate Easter!
Have a happy week!

Farm Day!

Recently, Evie's school took a field trip to the World Hunger Relief Farm.  The children were taken on a little tour of the farm to learn about the animals and how others live in different countries.
First we learned about beekeeping.

Then we learned about the pigs.

Next we got to pet the bunny.

 and then the ducks.

We learned about "Ginger" the goat.

Sweet smile.

Petting the chicken.  The chickens at the farm lay white, brown and green eggs.

The farm also hosts "Farm Day" twice a year and opens up to the public.  We went as a family this past weekend and met our good friends the Grinsteads there.
Evie's dream came true and she got to ride a "pony".

Mavery and Allison found a very fluffy bunny to play with.

Mavery also made friends with the chicken.

...and let's call it a day!

I'm done!

Evie's 5th Birthday Party

We finally had a birthday party for Evie's 5th birthday.  It was a little delayed this year, but nonetheless, we still had a great time.  Even if we celebrated her February birthday in March.
Evie decided on a "My Little Pony" birthday theme.  We had a bounce house and a performance time on the stage.  I think the little girls enjoyed singing to "Let It Go" with fake microphones on the stage over and over and over again.

Make a wish!!!

Although I didn't get a ton of great pictures, we had a ton of fun at the party.  Now, Mavery is constantly asking for her birthday party.  She doesn't quite understand that it is in JUNE…
