The "Not-so Easy Bake Oven"

Evie got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas this year. She loves it. Just like I did when I was a kid. However, there is a reason that it says "ages 8 and up" on the box.
Easy Bake oven is not so easy with a very enthusiastic 4 year-old!
We made pretzels the other night. They were interesting. The mix even came with cheese sauce.
I'm glad she enjoys her "Bake Oven" as she refers to it. It gives us a good chance to spend time together in the kitchen and also gets her excited about doing the dishes!
Here's to brownies and cookies baked by a light bulb for the next few years to come!

Family Game Night

Evie is learning to play games. We played candy land the other night and she actually "got it". Meaning, she understood the concept of the rules and the objective of getting your gingerbread man to the castle first. When we sat down to decide who got the first turn she said, and I quote "daddy goes first because he washed the dishes tonight" (thank you mike)!
Not to brag, but that seemed rather mature for a 4 year old. Just sayin!
When we first started playing board games with her a few months ago she wanted to do everyone's turn for them and make her own rules. (It wasn't much fun and I sort of dreaded the moment when she asked "can we play a game??")
The other night was fun playing a game as a family. It made me look forward to having family game nights with the kids. But honestly,I can wait just a bit for these sweet girls to grow up.

Blankie

Any resemblance??
And people wonder why I call her Linus??
When Maves wakes up in the morning she will follow me around while I'm getting ready. She holds her blankie out so that I will pick her up and snuggle her. It's irresistible! And I am so weak!
