Last Weekend

Hey! Whacha doin?

Wanna see what we did last weekend?

Well, Dad fired up the grill. Yum! We do that frequently when it gets warm.


Mom made pizza.


Yum!


We ate outside on the patio.


I watered the flowers.

And put up all the dishes. (Those two can make such a mess!)

Whew! Fun Times!

Biscotti, Princess Purse, Laundry, Lettuce and Kolaches

What do all of those things have in common? Well, it sums up our weekend. Friday night mommy made biscotti Yum! It's almost all gone.

Saturday I played around the house. I practiced carrying around my princess purse.

I'm still learning how to put it on my shoulder. Mom still has to help me out.

How's that look?

O.k., Let's go shopping.

Saturday we ate salad that had lettuce from the garden. Wow!

I helped mom do the laundry. Look at that huge basket of laundry I carried...

We even put Pinky Bear in for a bath.

Here's me and my purse again. See, I like to take things from the kitchen cabinets and toss them over the gate into the guest room. Why not?

Sitting on the stair. I'm sorta learning that I'm not supposed to climb the stairs with out parental supervision... Something about "it's dangerous..."

And Saturday night mom made apricot kolaches.

Guess I'll just make a mess indoors and play.

Around the House

Well, I thought I'd post a few pictures of the happenings around the house. Don't worry, there's pictures of Evie posted, too.

Our latest home-owner adventure has been the recent discovery of a bee colony that took up residence at our house. We kept finding dead bees in the window of Evie's room a few days ago so I went outside and there they were, swarming around the corner of the house. They had nested up in the siding. So, the nursery has been off limits the past few days. The exterminator came out and sprayed to get rid of them. First they got REALLY mad and swarmed the back yard, then they all hovered on our fence for the afternoon. The next day they were gone. It was CREEEEEPY.
Since being on maternity leave, I have been able to do some sewing. I made some baby stuff and mended some clothes around the house. But when my mom was in town, we visited Hobby Lobby and she encouraged me to make a dress for Evie. Mom, always the encourager. So I picked out a pattern and was a little intimidated with it because it has pleats and a zipper. But it turned out o.k. I've started another one for her (same pattern) in a mint green satin. We'll see...

The zucchini growing bigger and bigger every day. I'm ready for the harvest!

We also got a little crafty and made Evie a mobile to hang above her changing table. She's always so happy and content on the changing table, we thought, why not put something up there for her to look at and talk to. It's very girlie with flowers and butter flies.

I promise...I really do feed her!

Evie also got her first "haircut" the other day. I made sure to use safety scissors and did it while she wasn't bobbing her head, but the hair on the sides of her head was hanging down over her ears so we trimmed. Pretty soon I'm going to have to cut her bangs so they don't get in her eyes.

Moses waiting at the door for you. Who, by the way, did his little trick the last half of our walk this morning and who is currently outside barking and chasing imaginary birds around the back yard.
You can hardly see them, but these are the little mushrooms growing all over the front yard because of all the rain. It'll be a beast to mow once the rain slows down, but I'm not complaining...we needed it!
The trees out front...aren't they pretty!



The pantry...I warned you about it, Mike. (Everyone else...don't ask)



The back yard...it doesn't look too bad, but it will be fun to mow in a day or so.

The long-lost hummingbird feeder, strategically placed above the purple petunias.

Can't wait to put on the new shutters next week.
