Princess Parties and Snow Days...

The girls attended a princess party at church last Friday.  It was a lot of fun.  Evie dressed as a princess ballerina and Mavery went as Elsa.

I washed all of their dress up clothes and hung them up to dry before the party.  They have a ridiculous amount of dress-up clothes!

We had fun treats.

We made a crown, a wand, jewelry and a photo frame...

...and took fun pictures in the photo booth with our friends!

and this precious one slept through most of it, when she wasn't crying and screaming for Daddy.
who? me?

On Monday we had icy roads and school was cancelled.
Since we have the best daddy/husband in the world, he came to get us during the afternoon and we played on the indoor playground at church all afternoon.  It was good to be out of the house.  Because two little girls were starting to bounce off the walls.  See?

On Wednesday morning, we were surprised with a lovely covering of snow on the ground, but school was not cancelled!

Family photo

We finally took a family photo with all 5 of us.  Everyone still had on their church clothes...except for Daddy.  So we gave him a hard time about that.  I'm not sure what Evie, Mavery and Olivia are looking at, but Mike and I are looking at the camera.
I will say that Olivia's expression says, "Really?  These crazy people are going to raise me? Help!"

Grandma Susie and Pops came for Evie's birthday weekend.  So we got a picture of all 5 of them, too.

Grandma Susie and the girls as we waited for our yummy dinner at the restaurant.

Evie opening her sewing machine she got for her birthday.  We have had 2 sewing lessons and she made a paper envelope the first lesson and a little polka-dot bag for her barbie clothes the second lesson.

All this craziness!

Think I better take a nap on my mommy!

4 Months Old

Miss Olivia is the big four months old!  Time flies by when you're screaming having fun!  Little Miss is doing very well.  She is getting more expressive with her smiling and pouting.  She has discovered her hands, she is very curious and alert and wants to put most everything in her mouth.  She sleeps all night about 60% of the time, and she loves, loves, loves watching her two older sisters dance, play and be silly.

She still does not care for car rides or her car seat.  She spends outings and evenings in the sling.  I don't mind too much having her wrapped on me, but I will say that she is getting bigger and heavier and my back can vouch for that.  She weighed 14lbs (and some change) at her 4 month appointment and measured 24 inches long.  She's in the 50th percentile for her age, which is where her two oldest sisters measured at this age as well.
I guess we just know how to produce beautiful, average size little girls.
I was able to get a few smiles out of her the other morning.
Cutie pie!

We tried out some rice cereal this morning.  She didn't fight the spoon, but she didn't seem that impressed either.

Evie was a big help wiping up the messy face.

Olivia is a true joy.  For the most part, she is a happy baby.  She still gets pretty fussy and colicky in the evenings, though.  She is having a rough time after her 4 month shots and I think she is trying to cut a tooth.  Her little thumb is all red and swollen from where she has been sucking on it.  So, we do lots of holding and bouncing and walking to try and keep her happy.

Movie Stars

This video is of Evie's class saying John 3:16 together at the Valentine's Day Party

I was able to capture this moment when Mavery was busy coloring and cutting and just singing away.  Precious...

And then baby Olivia, just doing some "baby flying" on my knees,  not really doing anything exciting, but she's not crying and screaming.  And in our house...peaceful and quiet is EXCITING!

Dress Up Days

Evie and Mavery had some fun dress up days at school this week:

Six Years Old

I just can't believe that this little thing entered our world six years ago today!
One Day Old

Six Years Old

What?? Evie is six years old!  Evie continues to amaze and challenge us each and every day.  She is as bright and loud and alert as the day she was born.  Evie has such a passion for life and for living out loud.  She loves to sing and currently wants to be a Pop Star when she grows up.  (Not a rock star, though, because only boys are rock stars...as she informed me on the way home the other day...)
She has really started to develop a love for learning.  She is learning to read and I am amazed every time we sit down together and she shows me something new she has learned.  Evie has really started to learn and memorize scripture with her church group here in Odessa.  We got her a new Bible for her birthday and she was so very excited.  Before we gave it to her, I went through and highlighted all of the verses she has memorized in the last few weeks.  She was so excited when I showed her the "yellow" verses and is excited to get to highlight more verses as she learns them.
I am still amazed every day at this precious, zealous and outgoing little person that the Lord blessed us with six years ago.  We love you Evie-girl!

Friday Fun

Mike has Fridays off, so that is our big "family day" for the week.  This past Friday was pretty relaxed. We all had a lazy morning.  Olivia got a bath.  She is doing better about baths since we moved bath time to the morning and to the kitchen sink.  However, I still only bathe her 1-2 times a week because we are still traumatized by the resulting scream-fests that we endured after her baths in the previous weeks.  Carseats and baths...she hates them both.

Mavery was eager to help with bath time.

Then, I took Evie and Mavery for a Sonic lunch and picnic at the park while Olivia had some bonding time with Daddy.  We had a fun, but windy time at the park.

After the park we all came home for nap time.  Most everyone took an awesome 2 hour nap, but no one slept in their own bed.  For some reason, we had a fruit basket turn over nap time, but it apparently worked.  Mike slept in Mavery's bed, Evie slept in my spot, I slept in Mike's spot, Mavery slept in Evie's spot, and Olivia slept on me.  I guess you just gotta mix it up sometimes.
And that's all we've got to say about that!
