Florida Thanksgiving

We went to Florida this year for Thanksgiving with Grandma Susie, Pops, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Nate, Stuart and Drake.  It was a bit cold for Florida, but we had a fun time.

Evie trying to sport her beach attire.

We finally had to opt for jackets.  It was a bit chilly at sunset.

The sunset on the beach was beautiful!

Please let me drive!

September 2013

Just some fun pics from the month of September...
Saturday we went to Baylor and played in the fountain.
Here comes Evie...
Here comes Mavery...
...and She'll be comin' round the fountain when she comes...
Then we went the the children's museum and the girls spent most of the time in their favorite room: The Horse Room (the pioneer room)
Cooking....
And saddle-back riding..
Giddy-up Horsey!!
Yee-haw!!
And last, this is the morning of picture day at school. It was reported that Mavery DID smile during her picture so we are excited to share the results soon! Until later...

School!

Evie's first day of Pre-k!  My baby is sure growing up fast.
Both girls ready to rock and roll! Mavery started preschool two days a week this year. She is slowly warming up!
Evie finding her name at her table.
I love it when they match!

The "Not-so Easy Bake Oven"

Evie got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas this year. She loves it. Just like I did when I was a kid. However, there is a reason that it says "ages 8 and up" on the box.
Easy Bake oven is not so easy with a very enthusiastic 4 year-old!
We made pretzels the other night. They were interesting. The mix even came with cheese sauce.
I'm glad she enjoys her "Bake Oven" as she refers to it. It gives us a good chance to spend time together in the kitchen and also gets her excited about doing the dishes!
Here's to brownies and cookies baked by a light bulb for the next few years to come!

Family Game Night

Evie is learning to play games. We played candy land the other night and she actually "got it". Meaning, she understood the concept of the rules and the objective of getting your gingerbread man to the castle first. When we sat down to decide who got the first turn she said, and I quote "daddy goes first because he washed the dishes tonight" (thank you mike)!
Not to brag, but that seemed rather mature for a 4 year old. Just sayin!
When we first started playing board games with her a few months ago she wanted to do everyone's turn for them and make her own rules. (It wasn't much fun and I sort of dreaded the moment when she asked "can we play a game??")
The other night was fun playing a game as a family. It made me look forward to having family game nights with the kids. But honestly,I can wait just a bit for these sweet girls to grow up.

Blankie

Any resemblance??
And people wonder why I call her Linus??
When Maves wakes up in the morning she will follow me around while I'm getting ready. She holds her blankie out so that I will pick her up and snuggle her. It's irresistible! And I am so weak!

That Mavery is a funny little girl...

Hey! I thought this was a splash park??
That's all the water you got??
Ok. My hiney needs a little wash anyway.
Of course a bowl hat goes with a ballerina outfit!
Nothin more fun than playin' naked on a Saturday morning in a make-shift cardboard box play house!
She really keeps us laughing!

Happy Birthday Sweet Mavery!

Miss Mavery Lynn has turned two! She is talking and she has a lot to say! She sings the ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Row Row Row Your Boat. She has her mom, dad and all four grandparents wrapped around her tiny little finger.  I just can't believe she is already two!

I think that Evie might have been more excited about Mavery's party than she was. But that's Evie, the party girl! She loves having parties and throwing parties.
I sure do love these beautiful sisters!
